A body remains, while identity withdraws. Above it, a black form occupies the place where recognition should begin. Within its darkness, a crescent appears — barely there, suspended between revelation and concealment.
The image offers no certainty. The circle may be an object, a void, a celestial body, or simply a form. Its meaning changes with the act of looking.
The visible body belongs to reality.
What replaces the face belongs to perception.
SUBTILUSION begins in the narrow distance between the two — where seeing becomes imagining, and absence acquires a presence of its own.
